Going, Going, Gone

I called the auction at around 3pm after a few false starts. I was deep in a basement with hardly any signal so eventually I gave up and used a land-line.

The good news: I won the letters and one other item which I had hoped to get and may write about another time. The final price was £45 so I obviously had some competition for them. This was also the first time that I had left absentee bids and whilst it has its advantages, I do like to be there to get a feel for how things are going, in person.

Next step was to go and pick them up but for that, I needed to fit it around work. This was planned for Tuesday - a whole 3 days away! Finding out what was in those boxes exactly would have to wait. It would be a very frustrating wait, too!
